My garden pond is filled with life and promises.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is an oasis where the kindness of soft and fluid beauty<\/span><\/p>\n

Extends a hand.<\/span><\/p>\n

I am fully content in its delicate ambience.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Juncos and red breasted robins arrived\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Before water had even reached its edges,<\/span><\/p>\n

Ready for a drink and a splash.<\/span><\/p>\n

Copper colored dragonflies shimmer,<\/span><\/p>\n

Enchanting butterflies flutter and dart about playfully,<\/span><\/p>\n

Layers of life nestle in this small habitat.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

My pond is praxis,<\/span><\/p>\n

It is a rescue shelter for myriad beings.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is political prefiguration – if only each of us<\/span><\/p>\n

Created refuges for our mental health<\/span><\/p>\n

And lifelines for wildlife.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I silently observe the reflections of the edgestones and grasses in the water.<\/span><\/p>\n

The pond becomes a meditation in eco-theology,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Calmly reconciling yin and yang, out and in,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The real and the unreal.<\/span><\/p>\n

I become mildly intoxicated by the scene,<\/span><\/p>\n

By my quiet thoughts.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

My pond is a place where euphoria\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Unmasks the necessity for moments of laziness.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is teeming with life through darkness and light,<\/span><\/p>\n

Yet it seems melodious and mellow and utterly balanced<\/span><\/p>\n

As though nature knows mostly how to share<\/span><\/p>\n
