At Sunset

Out of the corner

of my eye

I saw a body

jerked up in

the air by

three black vultures,

it landed in

spasmodic

blood shakes,

a match was lit,

I stopped the truck

to take a

better look,

the match

quickly went out,

I saw three black

vultures

eating Doritos

from a red bag,

an apathetic

cow eating grass

close to where

I saw a black

snake when

I was out walking,

a cardinal covered

in white dust

from the dirt

road sitting on

a barbed wire fence,

a horse with

a white star

on its forehead,

a red face in the rearview mirror.
