What Comes in Waves
Existence,
Like the lulling ocean
Waves that
Glimmer as they slide across
The sand and trickle
Over your feet,
Bringing forth a soothing
Breeze
That, in the same gust, can
Draw out the waves that
Overwhelm you, crashing down
In every direction,
Forbidding you from coming up for air
And shadowing out
What lurks through the surrounding atmosphere.
How both oppositions are true
Is only explicable by the vastness that is the sea
Of which provides the means
For the glorious terror
And terrifying glory
That existing can be.
