Patienting

patienting

it will never be an obsolete gerund/ living/ this whatever it is/ this breathing of a run-on sentence far more than just labeling/ far more than just painting/ far more than just counting to ten regarding pain and its defining/ so much is repeating/ innards by innards by patient eyes retreating/ surgeons were once barbers with poles/ striping the cutting-edge/ lancing pulling and setting/ people were beings breeding/ like now/ and stopped breathing/ the future will eventually be here blushing/ the present is the gift/ gifting/ the moment is stretching/ the daily breading/ state-of-the-art/ now/ amidst the leaves dangling/ selves/ all should be remembering/ distant buds to be boomeranging/ here now/ here now/ not just wording or wearing a mask hiding/ but bandaging/ planting/ giving/ waiting for the blooming/ healing/ yes/ loosening sheets of the situating sky/ not even seeing sky to be knowing/ heaven is at the ceiling/ and here just as well/ this present patient you are patienting/ a landing/ onto the runway in front of you/ clear as the heart near the smudged badge between the softening pleating of your white coat
